Bibliographic database for South and Southeast Asian Art and Architecture. Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA).
Most comprehensive art bibliography. Covers European and American art from late antiquity to the present. Indexes and abstracts books, dissertations, exhibition catalogs, and articles from over 2500 periodicals published from 1973 to the present.

Academic Search Premier
Academic Search Elite provides information from a wide range of academic areas including business, social sciences, humanities, general academic, general science, education and multi-cultural topics. This multidiscplinary database features full-text for over 1,000 journals with many dating back to 1990, abstracts and indexing for over 3,200 scholarly journals, and coverage of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Christian Science Monitor. It also includes coverage of over 1,700 peer-reviewed journals.

African Studies.
For access to multi-disciplinary information on Africa. Contains almost 600,000 records.

Alternative Press Index (Davis Reference AI3.A27)
The Alternative Press Index is a quarterly subject index to over 250 alternative, radical, and left periodicals, newspapers, and magazines.

American History and Life
America: History and Life is a complete bibliographic reference to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Published since 1964, the database comprises almost 400,000 bibliographic entries.

Anthropology Plus
This database is the world's most comprehensive, focused index of bibliographic materials from the late 1800s to today in the fields of social, cultural, physical, biological, and linguistic anthropology; ethnology, archaeology, folklore; and material culture. Beyond these disciplines, researchers and scholars in art history, demography, economics, genetics, geography, geology, history, psychology, religion, or sociology will all find relevant anthropological material.

Arts and Humanities Citation Index

ATLA Religion Database
Covers over 1,400 journals, including over 600 being currently indexed, and nearly 16,000 collections of essays in the field of religion.

Bibliography of Asian Studies.

Black Studies.

Ethnic Newswatch
A full-text general reference database of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press, 1960 to present. English and Spanish language.

Expanded Academic ASAP
Expanded Academic Index includes abstracts or references for articles from more than 1,500 scholarly, trade and general-interest publications, as well as references for The New York Times. The ASAP version adds full-text for many titles.The database integrates core titles in every major academic concentration, including astronomy, religion, law, history, psychology, humanities, current events, sociology, communications and the general sciences; area-specific and issue-specific journals; academic journals with application in the professions; and publications with national news coverage and commentary.

Gender Watch
Covers 1970s-present. Contains full-text collection of international journals, magazines, newsletters, reports, and conference proceedings devoted to women's issues. Includes content on the impact of gender in art, business, pop culture, etc.

Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI)
Covers 1970-present. Contains citations to articles, book reviews, documents, literary works, etc. relating to Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the US-Mexico border, and Hispanics in the US.

Historical Abstracts
Covers the history of the world from 1450 to the present. Contains indexes for 2000 periodicals published from 1973-present.

Access to citations and full-text, 1988 to date.

Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriftenliteratur/International (IBZ)
Worldwide bibliography of periodical literature. Searchable in English but includes mostly European publications.

International Index to Black Periodicals
IIBP Full Text includes current and retrospective bibliographic citations and abstracts from over 150 scholarly and popular journals, newspapers and newsletters from the United States, Africa and the Caribbean--and full-text coverage of 32 core Black Studies periodicals from 1998 to present.

International Medieval Bibliography
This bibliography of the European Middle Ages (c. 450-1500) has been produced in print form since 1968 by the International Medieval Institute (University of Leeds). Coverage is drawn from over 4,000 periodicals as well as from miscellaneous collections of conference proceedings, essay collections, and Festschriften.

Iter: Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance
Provides records for more than 300 journals pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Coverage varies.

JSTOR
Provides archives of important scholarly journals from many different disciplines. Has complete backfiles of scholarly journals starting with the first issues (some date from 1800s), but most recent 2-5 years are excluded. Includes journals in history, African American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, language and literature, etc.

Literature Online (LION)
Literature Online (LION) is the definitive electronic resource for the study of English and American literature. Spanning 1,400 years, it provides remote access to more than 260,000 fully searchable literary texts. In addition it contains some major reference tools, secondary sources, biographies, and bibliographies. It also offers a master index of web sites selected for their quality and range of literary materials. Users can retrieve a text in seconds or use the search capabilities of LION to study the language of a literary work, find out how it has influenced other writers, and make new connections that cross centuries. LION brings together the contents of the following databases in the following major categories into one, fully searchable resource.

Periodicals Contents Index (PCI)
Keyword index to contents of several thousand periodicals in humanities and social sciences from 1770 to the early 1990s. Includes 9 million articles from over 2000 journals.

Philosopher's Index
Covers the areas of ethics,aesthetics, social philosophy, political philosophy, epistemology, andmetaphysic logic as well as material on the philosophy of law, religion,science, history, education, and language. (Source: vendor website.)

Project Muse
Full-text to more than 100 quality journals covering literature and criticism, history, visual and performing arts, education, gender studies, and more.

Women's Resources
This is an interdisciplinary database combined from Women Studies Abstracts (1984-present), Women's Studies Database (1972-present), New Books on Women and Feminism (1987-present), Women of Color and Southern Women (1975-1995), The History of Women and Science, Health, and Technology: A Bibliographic Guide to the Professions and Disciplines (1970-1995), Women's Health and Development: An Annotated Bibliography (1995), Women, Race, and Ethnicity: A Bibliography (1970-1990), WAVE: Women's Audiovisuals in English: A Guide to Nonprint Resources in Women's Studies (1985-1990), and POPLINE Subset on Women (1964-present).

Provides access to a variety of databases. Contains full-text.

Infotrac

Accessible Archives
The Accessible Archives databases contain the full text of important American newspapers from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Deloynes Collection. [Microfiche, 5-235]
Contains over 2000 documents on the Fine Arts published between 1675 and 1808, including pamphlets, manuscripts, and salon and exhibition catalogs. Includes a catalog of the collection with a name and subject index. Sloane also has the print edition of the catalog (N7435.D865).

Accessible Archives
The Accessible Archives databases contain the full text of important American newspapers from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

African American Newspapers: The 19th Century
Contains over 60,000 records with a wealth of information about the cultural life and history of the 1880s including first-hand reports on issues of the day, biographies, essays, poetry, etc.

Civil War: A Newspaper Perspective
Online/EID. Contains full-text articles from 2500+ issues of the New York Herald, Charleston Mercury, and Richmond Enquirer published between November 1, 1860 and April 15, 1865. Can search for news articles, reports of events, ads, and arts and leisure pieces.

The Concordia University Art Index to 19th-century Canadian Periodicals
Author and subject index to Canadian periodicals published between 1830 and 1900. Subject matter is not restricted to Canada. [Z5937.C66 1981 Ref.]

Godey's Ladys Book 1830-1880
Index to articles on various topics in the magazine that entertained and educated women of America. Godey's eventually became an important literary magazine, and it included many engravings and illustrations.

HarpWeek
Includes indexes and full text of issues of Harper's Weekly published between 1857-1876. The magazine contained detailed information about cultural, political, and social issues along with illustrations.

Index to Nineteenth Century American Art Periodicals
Comprehensive index to 19th c. art magazines. Has an author/subject index and a listing of all magazines with descriptions of the articles in each issue. 2 vols. N6510. S35 1999 Ref.

Magazine Stacks
Lists table of contents for historical journals and monographic series written, primarily, in German. Includes 19th and early 20th c. publications.

Nineteenth Century Masterfile
Nineteenth Century Masterfile compiles a rich and growing assortment of indexes to 19th century printed material (actually from about 1774 to 1920). The indexes cover periodical literature, selected newspapers, books, U. S. government documents, U. S. patents, and British Parliamentary Debates. New indexes are added regularly.

The Nineteenth Century in Print
This collection presents twenty-three popular periodicals digitized by Cornell University Library and the Preservation Reformatting Division of the Library of Congress. They include literary and political magazines, as well as Scientific American, Manufacturer and Builder, and Garden and Forest: A Journal of Horticulture, Landscape Art, and Forestry. The longest run is for The North American Review, 1815-1900. (citation taken from page)

The Pennsylvania Gazette 1728-1800
Provides social, political, and cultural perspectives of colonial America, the Revolution, and the New Republic. Includes full texts of important documents and indexes to articles, letters, and ads.

Poole's Plus
The digital index for the nineteenth century. Indexes periodicals from 1890-1902. Searchable index to the New York Daily Tribune (1875-1906).

Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals 1824-1900
CD-ROM and print, Davis. This resource indexes only British periodicals; lists each issue of each journal, with an index to names of authors and an index of initials and pseudonyms. A13 .W45
