The Graphic Novel: a Sloane Art Library brief guide

Local Collections

Graphic novels, comic books and books about those two related genres are located throughout the libraries (Art Library, Undergraduate Library, Davis Library, Information and Library Science Library, and Rare Books in Wilson Library.) You may need to go to all these libraries to find what you need.

Graphic Novel is a subject heading, so you can use that in the online catalog when searching. This is a large and growing area of the collections at UNC. Comic Books is another heading. You can also search by a book's author, e.g. Satrapi Marjane. The following books may be helpful. Look them up in the online catalog to find the call number. The Art Library collects graphic novels if they classify as an artists' book (a book-like object created by an artist as a work of art).
