Abstract: The Carmichael family lived in Augusta, Ga. The collection includes diaries and commonplace books of various members of the Carmichael family of Augusta, Ga., including the diary, 1837-1845, of Mary Eliza (Eve) Carmichael describing daily life in Augusta; her commonplace book, 1832-1850; the travel diary of her son, Oswel Eve Carmichael, on a trip to France and England, 1838-1839; and her sister Eizabeth Eve’s commonplace book, 1803.
