The Joseph C. Sloane Art Library is a part of UNC-Chapel Hill’s University Library system. We are located in the Hanes Art Center, next door to the Ackland Art Museum.
Our book collection numbers over 100,000 volumes with thousands more available by request from off-site storage. Along with the regular circulating and reference materials we have several notable special collections: over 600 artists’ books; vertical files with ephemera representing more than 5,000 artists; and a circulating collection of art-related videos on DVD and VHS.
For more information about the art library and access to our catalog you can visit our website. To learn more about our namesake, Joseph C. Sloane, please click here.
With this blog we hope to share many things, from our enthusiasm for the library’s treasures to the experiences of some of our patrons. Hope you find something here to enjoy!
