Counseling and Psychotherapy Transcripts, Client Narratives, and Reference Works

This database contains real transcripts of therapy and counseling sessions and first-person narratives illuminating the experience of mental illness and its treatment, as well as reference works to contextualize the primary material. Its collections total more than 2000 transcripts of actual therapy sessions – almost 40,000 pages of first-person accounts, together with 25,000 pages of major reference works. There are diaries, letters, autobiographies, oral histories, and personal memoirs along with the full text of the sessions themselves. All accounts are non-fiction, delivered in the first person and, where possible, contemporaneous.

New: Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database

Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database

This resource provides data on over 35,000 slave ship voyages which forcibly carried over 10 million Africans to the Americas from the early 16th to the mid-19th centuries. You can search for particular voyages, use the African name database of 67,000 names, view and even create maps, retrieve numerical data, read explanatory essays, and find and use lesson plans.

This database was previously only available on CD-ROM in the Davis Library Reference Department.

New: SimplyMap

SimplyMap is a web-based mapping application that enables users to quickly and easily create professional-quality thematic maps and reports using extensive demographic, business and marketing data. The data is from EASI Analytics and Mediamark Research Inc. and is derived from government and other sources. Variables include demographics, housing, income, retail sales, consumer expenditures, consumer price index, quality of life, employment and establishments by industry, historical census data for 1980, 1990, and 2000 in 2000 boundaries, 2006 estimates, 2011 projections, and EASI/MRI market research data. Export high resolution map images. Data can be exported in spreadsheet or shapefile format. Commercial use and republication of the data are prohibited.

New: Ad$pender

Ad$pender provides advertising for millions of brands across 11 media (Network TV, Spot TV, Syndication, Cable TV, Newspapers, National Newspapers, Magazines, Sunday Magazines, Network Radio, National Spot Radio, and Outdoor). The basic data package includes a five-year rolling database, with additional data accessible back to 1986. With Ad$pender, one can create as many reports as needed and has the ability to customize those reports to the layout that would work best for the user. Ad$pender reports can be output to both PDF and CSV Spreadsheets (MS Excel editable).

Oxford Music Online is the access-point for current and forthcoming Oxford music reference subscriptions and products, including Grove Music Online, The Oxford Companion to Music, and The Oxford Dictionary of Music. With OMO patrons can cross-search Grove and Oxford reference content in one location. Grove Music Online now also includes partnerships with RILM providers and Classical Music Library (CML), providing links from the bibliographies in every Grove article to RILM, and links to sounds files in CML from the Related Content tab of every Grove article.
