You probably guessed it was the 1950 Azalea Queen. I don’t know who that was but the Azalea Festival Committee in Wilmington should have that information.
Nope, the 1950 Queen was Gregg Sherwood, a blonde. It could possibly be Martha Hyer, 1949 Queen, or Margaret Sheridan, 1951 Queen, but neither is a slam dunk.
