North Carolina Negro Exhibit at the Jamestown Exposition

We’ve got a postcard featuring an exhibit about African Americans in North Carolina at the 1907 Jamestown Exhibition. The NC State Legislature granted $5,000 to develop the exhibit.

You can see other NC postcards from the Jamestown Ter-centennial Exposition here.

Very interesting! I notice that one of the other post cards is of North Carolina’s building that was in the exhibition. I found out something about the exhibition on an NPS site, but can’t tell if the NC building still exists anywhere. Does anybody there know if it is still there or was torn down or moved to another location or what?

    Thanks.

Hmmm. I’m not positive about what buildings from the Jamestown Exposition are still extant – or what happened to them if they’re not! I’ll look into it and post what I find.
