		<description><![CDATA[I would like to add that State Archivist Sarah Koonts is also on hand for the 300th celebration today. Along with armed gaurds(the Sherriff of Chowan County and the Police Chief of Edenton), she escorted the Carolina Charter to the Chowan Courthouse for public viewing today--a rare event. One thousand schoolchildren are scheduled to view North Carolina&#039;s &quot;birth certificate&quot; over the next two days.]]></description>
