Storytellers and musicians will entertain children of all ages at the Friends of the Library’s 19th annual Winter Stories program on Dec. 8 in Wilson Library.
This year’s program, with the theme “A Gathering of Stars,” will feature tales from around the world, along with live instrumental music and sing-alongs.
Brian Sturm, associate professor at the UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS), and SILS students Keith Beisner, Becky Carlson, Veronica Koven-Matasy, Susan Metallo, and Megan England Ward will enchant with folk tales and literary tales from around the world.
SILS students Veronica Koven-Matasy, Ericka Patillo, and Hannah Pierce, plus Library staff members Kate Barnhart, Renee McBride, and Terry Patrickis will provide music.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new or gently used children’s book to contribute to a book drive for the Book Fairy, an organization that donates children’s books to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at UNC Hospitals.
