SciVee: a science video-sharing site

SciVee is a video-sharing site for posting science to the public — a “You-Tube” for the science community. It is sponsored by NSF, PLoS, and others.

From their website:

SciVee is about the free and widespread dissemination and comprehension of science.

Created for scientists, by scientists, SciVee moves science beyond the printed word and lecture theater taking advantage of the internet as a communication medium where scientists young and old have a place and a voice.

SciVee is operated in partnership with the Public Library of Science (PLoS), the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC).

SciVee allows scientists to communicate their work as a multimedia presentation incorporated with the content of their published article. Other scientists can freely view uploaded presentations and engage in virtual discussions with the author and other viewers.”

SciVee also facilitates communication among colleagues and peers who share similar research interests.
