Math Overflow is a Web site launched in October 2009. It is, to quote the homepage, “a place for mathematicians to ask and answer questions.” Anyone can post questions of interest to mathematicians—anything from basic questions to current research material—and receive feedback from a large group of like-minded scholars.
In only two months, Math Overflow has garnered 1783 registered users (as of now). The Web site has swept the realm of well-known bloggers in the math community, receiving mention from Terry Tao, the n-Category Café, Secret Blogging Seminar, and countless others.
