I. ELECTRONIC RESOURCES
A. Select list of
Operations Research E-Journals available at UNC-Chapel Hill
B. Article Databases
INSPEC
(1898-present)
INSPEC is the world's largest bibliographic database for
the fields of physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computers and
control engineering, and information technology. It also provides significant
coverage of operations research literature.
ISI Web of
Science (1980-present)
Including Science Citation Index Expanded,
the ISI Citation Databases provide cited reference searching of the scholarly
literature in many disciplines.
MathSciNet
(1940-present)
This database from the American Mathematical
Society provides web access to
Mathematical Reviews and
Current Mathematics Publications, the leading sources of indexing and
abstracts for research literature in mathematics. The database also covers
many operations research journals.
C. Journal Collections (with full text and search and
browse capabilities)
IEEE
Xplore (1988-present, select content from 1950 onwards)
IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
Xplore provides access
to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines, and conference proceedings
published since 1988, select content from 1950 onwards, and all current IEEE
standards.
Kluwer
Journals OnlineKluwer Journals Online is the gateway to journals
published under the various Kluwer imprints.
ScienceDirectScienceDirect serves as a gateway to selected
journals published by Elsevier and its partners.
D. Reference Sources
STATSnetBASE
STATS
netBASE provides full text access to statistics reference sources
published by CRC Press. Its content includes
statistics in business, law, medicine, and many other scientific disciplines.

II. PRINT RESOURCES (located in
Brauer Math/Physics Library)
A. Indexes and Abstracts
International Abstracts in Operations Research (1961-present)
This source presents abstracts from about 180 international publications in
operations research and related mathematical areas. Most national society
journals and major commercial publications are abstracted in full, while only
selected articles from other publications are included.
Operations Research/Management Science (1961-present)
This source scans a wide range of journals in operations research and related
areas of engineering, business, and computer science. Selected articles are
covered in detailed abstracts that include purpose, summary, and results.
Quality Control and Applied Statistics (1956-present)
Focusing on quality control, applied statistics, and related areas, this
source provides detailed abstracts for selected articles from a small range of
international journals.
B. Reference Sources
Encyclopedia of Operations Research and Management Science
MP REF T57.6.E53 1996
This single-volume source provides an overview of the foundations, applications,
and emerging elements of operations research and management science.
Encyclopedia of Optimization MP REF QA402.5.E539 2001
This encyclopedia examines the theories, algorithms, and applications
of optimization through short survey articles and more detailed entries on
concrete problems, techniques, and applications. It also includes selected
biographies and articles that provide a broader historical perspective.
Systems and Control Encyclopedia: Theory, Technology, Applications
MP REF QA402.S968 1987
This eight-volume encyclopedia serves as a comprehensive reference work on the
design and control of physical systems.
