As the result of a workflow analysis in 2008, the University Library's Technical Services underwent a department wide redesign. Effective June 2nd the Catalog and Acquisitions Departments, as they were, ceased to exist. New units were created and positions were realigned.
  • The existing Catalog Department became Resource Description & Management (RDM) and is divided into four units: Original/Adaptive Cataloging, Special Formats and Metadata, Slavic/East European and Database Management Services (DMS).

  • The Acquisitions Department became Monographic Services (MS). It also consists of four units: Order Management, Receiving and FastCat, Standing Orders and Gifts.

  • A third department, E-Resources & Serials Management, was created in order to process the increasing volume of serials and electronic materials. This department is composed of: Electronic Resources, Electronic Resources Access, Serials Access and Electronic Resources Cataloging.
