The Center for Research Libraries -- German Literature.
Graduate students and researchers at UNC-Chapel Hill benefit enormously from the Library's membership in the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago. The CRL purchases materials, particularly microform sets, backruns of newspapers and periodicals, and foreign dissertations. The Center makes its materials available to researchers at member institutions on indefinite loan. The Center subscribes to the ongoing microfilming project "German Books before 1601" and has many thousands of rolls of microfilm relating to the Second World War. The Center's homepage lists by city German-language newspapers held there.
