Sections
The tutorial includes an introductory section, four main sections, and example scenarios:
- The introduction provides an overview of the tutorial itself.
- The second section instructs the reader about the basics of copyright and public domain.
- The third section discusses the duration of copyright protection.
- The fourth section discusses licensed materials.
- The fifth section discusses the four factors weighed in fair use.
- The sixth section introduces teaching exemptions for fair use.
- The seventh section discusses podcasting and the TEACH Act.
- The eighth section explains what to do if the material you want to use is not covered by fair use or another copyright safe harbor.
- The ninth section provides some example scenarios and explains the legality of each.
Some sections contain a number of sub-sections. While the sections are arranged in a logical progression, each
section can stand on its own, so it is not necessary to follow them in sequence.
