National Association of Biology Teachers
NABT publishes the journal
American Biology Teacher (avaiable at Davis Library). Their website provides instructional materials and links to other teaching resources.
National Science Digital Library
"The National Science Digital Library (NSDL) was created by the National Science Foundation to provide organized access to high quality resources and tools that support innovations in teaching and learning at all levels of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education." Copyright varies by resource; more information is on each record.
Within the NSDL are subsections called Pathways. "Pathway portals are developed and managed in partnership with organizations and institutions that have a history and expertise in serving their portal's target audiences".
One of the Pathways is: BEN (BiosciEdNet).
"The BEN Portal provides access to education resources from BEN Collaborators and is managed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Over 11,326 reviewed resources covering 77 biological sciences topics are available. BEN resources can help you engage student interest, shorten lesson preparation time, provide concept updates, and develop curricula that are in line with national standards for content, use of animals and humans, and student safety."
National Science Teachers Association
NSTA publishes the journals
Science and Children (grades K-6),
Science Scope (grades 6-9), The Science Teacher (grades 9-12), and Journal of College Science Teaching (all available in Davis Library). Their website has a variety of teaching resources, including the Learning Center (hint: results can be filtered to show only free resources).
