Following Links

Now, click on your minimized CNN window by clicking on the button for it at the bottom of your screen.

When you slide your mouse over certain parts of the CNN web page, do you notice that the text changes? Some links become underlined when you hold your mouse over them, and some change size or color. When you scroll over the "Video" button at the top of the page next to the highlighted "Home" button, for instance, the button turns a lighter shade of red. These changes, along with the image of the hand with the pointer finger extended, are clues that the text you're seeing is actually a link to a different page.

Cursor over Link

Now you can try following a link from the CNN main web page that you have open in the separate window. Scroll with your mouse until the cursor becomes a small hand over the button that says "World" at the top of the page. Use your left mouse button to click once on the link. You should now be on the World News page. Since the news changes so frequently, this page will look different almost every time you go to it. Notice that the button that says "World" is now highlighted instead of the "Home" button. This lets you know that you're on the World News page.
