Search Engine Interfaces

Once you have entered the address for Google in your new window, you should be taken to a web page that looks like this:

This is the Google interface, which just means that this is the way the main search page on Google looks to users. The interface allows users to interact with Google's complex search system in a way that is easy to use. Notice that there's just one search box. That's where you would type in your search. You can click the Google Search button underneath the box to perform the search. Not all search engines look this way. Each one has a unique interface. Currently, however, most search engines are moving toward simple interfaces like Google's, with a single search box.
