The André Savine Collection

Russian independent newspapers collection, 1989-1997

The Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Collections at UNC-Chapel Hill support a wide range of research and instructional needs of UNC faculty, graduate and undergraduate students. Materials are purchased from the territories of the former Soviet Union, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, former Yugoslavia, Albania, Bulgaria, and Romania. Acquisitions are made in the respective languages of the regions, as well as in English and certain other West European languages. The Library holds an excellent collection of materials in Slavic literature and linguistics, Russian and Soviet history, economics, and political science. Limited acquisitions are made in Russian and East European art, music, history of education, library science, math, physics and other sciences.
