Services and Access for the Disabled

The University Libraries are committed to providing access to their collections, resources, and services to all library users, including people with physical and learning disabilities. If you require special assistance in the Geological Sciences Library, please feel free to contact our library staff at (919) 962-2386. We will make every effort to accommodate your needs.

Parking and Building Access

Visitors displaying an official state-issued disability placard may park in campus spaces reserved for those with such permits. Due to ongoing construction around Mitchell Hall it is advisable to call us for information regarding the nearest disability parking spaces.

A ramp for wheelchairs is located at the south door of Mitchell Hall on the street level. This ramp is accessible from the Columbia Street side (west side) of the building and provides access to the first floor. There is also a ramp at the ground level, behind Mitchell Hall, where Mitchell Hall and Wilson Hall buildings connect at a breezeway stairwell. This ramp provides access to the ground floor, where an elevator is located. The library is located on the first floor on the north end of Mitchell Hall, near the elevator.
