Wireless Access
Wireless Access is available throughout the Undergraduate Library. For information about connecting to the wireless network with your laptop, please see ATN's document on wireless access and policies.

Equipment Available
The House Library Circulation Desk has eight laptops (with wireless cards) and an additional eight ethernet cables, and two zip drives. All are for building use only. They may not be taken out of the library.

Borrower Requirements
Only UNC Chapel Hill students or faculty members may borrow laptops or wireless cards. A valid UNC One Card is required for check-out.

Loan Periods
Laptops, ethernet cable, and zip drives may be checked out for three (3) hours and can only be used in the Library.

All items are due back one (1) hour before the library closes. The library will stop circulating laptops and zip drives two (2) hours before the library closes. When the library is open overnight, laptop loans are made only between 8am and10pm, and should be returned before 11 pm. Laptops may be renewed 1 time. These items may not be reserved for hold request, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fines
Laptops accrue fines at the rate of $7.50 per 15 minutes overdue ($30.00 per hour). Ethernet cables and zip drives carry a fine of $1.00 per 15 minutes overdue ($4.00 per hour). There is no grace period or maximum fine. The repair or replacement charge of a laptop is a maximum of $4,000 plus a processing fee.
