Audio Studio
Our studio is equipped
with a Mac G5 housing a wide array of digital editing
software including GarageBand, Logic and Reason,
allowing everybody from the beginner to the pro to
create music from the ground up. We provide the mic and
the medium, you provide the music.

Video Editing Suites
Apple-fueled G5s allow you to utilize a wide
range of professional video editing and multimedia software. Make a
project from the ground up with professional
results.

Duplication Station & Video Transfer
We have facilities to transfer a wide variety of
formats, from VHS to DVD to Hi-8 to CD. No laser disc
dup stations, but just about anything else you may
need. We can also convert PAL to NTSC, etc.

Overview of our labs
The Digital Media Lab gives UNC-Chapel Hill students, faculty and staff
access to the latest in multimedia software and hardware. Our lab offers
eleven work stations, each one offering a wide range of video hardware and
software including iMovie, iDVD, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Macromedia
Flash, Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop. In addition to our work stations,
we also have two duplication stations capable of copying up to 7 CDs or DVDs
simultaneously. Whether you want to produce a
full-length documentary or make that wedding video look just right, we have
the tools you need to do it!

Free Media Lab classes
The MRC Digital Media Lab is offering free one-on-one and small group instruction. We offer beginner and intermediate instruction on Final Cut Pro and iMovie, as well as beginner instruction in Garageband, Logic Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash. We can accommodate you between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. Please email medialab@unc.edu with a date and time you would like and an alternate, and let us know what you are interested in learning, at least 24 hours in advance. This is open to any current UNC students, Faculty or Staff.
