Course-integrated instruction is library instruction that is tailored to the information needs of a
specific course or a particular research assignment. A library instructor will collaborate with you on the
content of the session based on your teaching objectives and the level of the class. An instruction

Library instructors can schedule an individual training session to assist you in the use of a new
information resource or consult with you on the design of your library research assignments. To

Online Course Support
Faculty developing online courses can consult with a librarian to create
a more information-rich course page. Whether you are using Blackboard's
course management software or an HTML editor, a librarian can assist you
in identifying information resources and instructional modules appropriate
for the content and level of the course. We can help you link items such
as electronic reserve readings, e-books, e-journals, full-text articles,
library instruction modules, or selected web sites. Please contact

Customized Workshops
A library instructor can collaborate with you to create a workshop around
a specific information need. A workshop can focus on a particular resource,
such as the Web of Science, a specific type of information, such
as U.S. Census data; or bibliographic management software, such as Endnote or Refworks.
Workshops can be conducted for a group of faculty, research assistants,
visiting scholars, and so on. The session can include handouts, web pages,
demonstrations, exercises, or guided hands-on practice, depending on your
