FOR VISITORS AND THE COMMUNITY
Library and Collection Tours
Visitors and community groups or organizations can request a tour of any
of the Academic Affairs Libraries or special collections. These tours
are designed to introduce you to the many services and resources available
to you through the libraries. A tour typically highlights:
- The organization of the library or the collection
- Service points such as reference and circulation
- General library or collection use policies
- The library catalog or other appropriate finding aids
- Other appropriate print or online resources
A library instructor will consult with you on the content and objectives for the tour. To schedule a tour, please see our tour page, or contact Instructional Services
Customized Workshops
A library instructor can collaborate with you to create a workshop around
a specific information need. A workshop can focus on a particular resource,
such as those available through NCLive, a specific type of information,
such as U.S. Census data or a topic like business research. Workshops
can be conducted for a group ranging from 3 to 20. The session can include
handouts, web pages, demonstrations, exercises, or guided hands-on practice,
depending on your needs or preferences. To schedule a workshop, please
contact Instructional
Services.
Web-based Tutorials and Research Guides
The library provides access to a wide range of web-based tutorials and research
guides designed to help you navigate the library and identify information
resources relevant to your research.
