Aging Research from a Distance

Finding Articles: E-Research Tools and More

The next step in finding articles on a specific topic is selecting the most appropriate database to search. If you know the name of a particular database, like PubMed or Academic Search Premier, you can go to it directly using the alphabetical list.

E-Research Tools

If you are not sure what databases to use, you can begin by browsing under the various subject categories. Several categories such as Health Sciences, Social Work, Sociology and of course Aging list databases useful for aging research.

It is also possible to search the titles and descriptions of the databases using keywords or phrases. Keep in mind, however, that this search will only produce a list of databases where the keywords you enter are part of the title or description. It will not result in a list of articles from those databases.
