ARTIFAQ
How can I find images of works of art to compare or contrast with the Ackland piece?

Images are also readily accessible via the growing number of museum or image web sites, which you can usually search by topic. The Grove Dictionary of Art Online and ARTstor provide gateways to image libraries, but you should also try the sites listed below, which include just a few of the best museum image sites on the web. Many museums now have websites; for an extensive list of museums worldwide, from the largest to the smallest and most unusual, go to the Virtual Museums Library. In addition to museum collections, you can also view online exhibitions and "Best of..." sites.

The National Gallery of Art is searchable by artist, but also by chronology, subjects and themes such as 'animals' or 'portraits', so it may be very useful in finding works to compare with your Ackland artwork.
