Finding Books

There are two types of books in the Kenan Chemistry Library. Some books are so important or frequently used that they do not circulate, such as the Dictionary of Organic Compounds and the Merck Index. These books are in the reference collection in the front of the library on your right as you enter.

Other books in the Kenan Chemistry Library can be checked out with your UNC OneCard. These books can be found in the stacks at the back of the library.

Books in both the reference section and the stacks are arranged by the Library of Congress Classification System. If you are unfamilar with it, please visit the UNC Libraries tutorial, "Introduction to Library Research".
