Science Citation Index Expanded includes citations from about 9,300 journals in mathematics, computing, physics and astronomy, chemistry, earth sciences, medicine, and engineering. The journals that are included are considered "high impact" journals. They are influential in their fields and frequently cited.
There is both a print and an online version of Science Citation Index Expanded. Web of Science, or ISI Citation Databases, is the online version of the Science Citation Index. Web of Science is updated more frequently than the print version.
Web of Science is unique, because it indexes articles that have cited a given publication (as well as what those publications cite). This is helpful when you have a really great article and want to know what has been done subsequently in that area of research.
To search Web of Science , you can search by topic, author, title, publication name, year published, etc. .
