Preparation
Before you even begin reading any primary research articles, you should be prepared. Do your background work first.
- You should already be somewhat familiar with your topic from class notes, textbooks, or other reading that you've done.
- Determine what gaps in your knowledge (or in the evidence to support your thesis or argument) need to be filled, but be open to learning about aspects of your topic that you aren't aware of.
- Know your expectations for this article.
