Other Exercises

Now that you know more about the toolbars on your web browser, take a few minutes to practice your new skills with these exercises:

  1. Open a new browser window. Can't remember how? Click here for instructions. The new browser will cover this one, but don't worry; the tutorial will still be open. If you need to get back to it, you can always minimize your new window by clicking on the minimize button in the top right of your browser window. The minimize button is the one that looks like a minus sign.
  2. Close the new window that you just opened by clicking on the exit button in the top right of the browser window. The exit button has an image of a large X.
  3. In your current browser window, open the browser's help menu. Can't remember how? Click here for instructions.
  4. Notice the tabs on the help menu, located right under the help menu's toolbar. The tabs read Contents, Index, Search, and Favorites. Use your mouse to left-click once on the Search tab. You will be prompted to type a keyword in the white search box. Make sure that the cursor, a black vertical line, is flashing inside the search box. If it is not, then use your mouse to left-click once inside the search box.
  5. Type the word e-mail in the search box. Then left-click once on the button that says List Now. You will see a list of topics relating to your keyword. Double-click on the first one and read the information that displays in the right hand side of your window.
  6. Close the help menu by clicking on the exit button.
  7. Ready to move on? If so, click next. If you'd like to go through this section of the tutorial again, click here.
