The Navigation Bar
Right below the menu bar is the Navigation Bar. The navigation bar can have any number of buttons on it, but the five buttons on the left are the most important, and most frequently used.
- The Back button is usually a backward pointing arrow. It takes you to the last page you visited.
- The Forward button is usually a forward pointing arrow. It advances you to the next page in a list of web pages you've recently viewed. After using the Back button to go back, for instance, you can get to your starting point again by using the Forward button.
- You can use the Stop button to stop a web page from loading. This can be handy if the web page if it is taking too long to load, or if you decide that you don't want to visit that page.
- The Refresh button brings the web page you're viewing up again so that you can see if any information has changed.
- The Home button brings you back to the browser's home page, or the page that automatically shows when you open your browser.
Try using some of these buttons. Click on the Back button to go back to the last page you visited. Once you are there, you can click on the Forward button to get back to this page. When you return to the tutorial, click the Refresh button to see if anything has changed.
