Understanding Error Messages
Sometimes, when you're navigating the World Wide Web, your browser will display messages that can seem a little strange. Every so often, you will encounter an error message, telling you that the site you're looking for cannot be found. There are a few things that you can do in this situation:
- First, make sure that you have the web address typed in correctly. Incorrect addresses are a major cause of error messages.
- Use your browser's refresh button, which is located on the toolbar.
- Check that web address one more time.
If you are still seeing an error message, there could be a number of different reasons why. For instance:
- The page could be temporarily down.
- The page or site does not exist anymore.
- There are too many people trying to access the site.
- Your browser cannot open the site because of certain restrictions.
You can always try to access the page again later, but in some situations, the page is simply no longer on the Web.
