Blocking Pop-Up Windows

Pop-up windows are windows that open automatically when you visit some web pages. These windows are common, and are often meant to advertise some sort of product or service. They can be very annoying. On most browsers, you can change your options so that pop-up windows are automatically blocked.

To block pop-up windows using Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

  1. Use your left mouse button to click once on the Tools menu.
  2. Slide your mouse down to Pop-Up Blocker. Another menu will slide out to the right.
  3. Slide the mouse to the right so that Turn on Pop-Up Blocker is highlighted.
  4. Click once with the left mouse button.
