Printing from the Web
Before printing a web page, you might want to check to see how many pages the document will be. To do so, you can use print preview.
- Use your left mouse button to click once on the File menu.
- Slide your mouse down to Print Preview.
- Click once with your left mouse button.
A preview window will open. At the top of this window, you can see how many pages the document is.
You can also use the Print Preview window to decide which specific pages you want to print. If decide that you only want to print pages one and two of the document, for instance, you can do that by following these steps:
- Open the Print Preview menu, following the directions above.
- Click on the Print icon at the top left of the Print Preview menu. A print window should appear.
- Click once in the circle next to the word Pages at the bottom of the window. A cursor should appear in the white box to the right of the word Pages.
- Type the page numbers you want to print. Since we want to print the first two pages, you would type in 1-2.
- Use your left mouse button to click Print at the bottom right.
Some web pages will have printer-friendly versions, which are shorter and usually include fewer images. These pages usually have clearly marked links that you can click on to take you to a version of the site that is specifically designed to be printed.
