Good Faith Fair Use Defense
photo by Will OwensThe Good Faith Fair Use Defense (Section 504(c)(2)) is for affiliates of educational, non-profit organizations who believe that their use of a work constitutes fair use. Even if a court finds a person guilty of copyright violation, he/she will be exempt from paying statutory damages if the court rules the violator had reasonable grounds to believe the use was fair.
