Thinking of how to get quality research books and articles to your students in the online classroom? Want to teach library research skills in your online class? Librarians can assist you in linking to the millions of online articles and books, as well as creating online guides to quality research materials and teaching online classes to guide your students to quality research sources and research techniques. E-mail Emily King, if you have any questions.
Consult with a Librarian
Meet with a librarian and identify specific research resources available for your students for their research assignments.
Library Course Pages
Have a librarian create a library research page that highlights the best library and research resources for your class and research assignments. (view examples, request a course page).
Instruction Sessions
Have a librarian tailor a online library instruction for your class research assignment. (request a session).
Online Tutorials
Assign a library tutorial to your class to give them an introduction to library resources.
E-Reserves
Have the library get your reading list together for your students online. If it is in the library, just give us the citation; if it is not, just give us a photocopy or PDF. We will get it online and navigate copyright for you.
Linking to Articles
Have the prefect article for your students to read? Make sure they can get to it on and off campus with our link guide.
Using Streaming Video
The library has a large collection of streaming videos that you can link to for your online course. Need more help with multimedia in the online classroom, email Winifred Metz.
Online Copies of Library Articles
Need a library article online that is print? Request the article through Carolina BLU and it will be scanned and emailed to you.
Collaboratory
Need to scan an article or an old slide? Need to create a Web page for your online course? Bring it to the Collaboratory. We have 17 scanners than can scan books, articles, slides, negatives, photographes, and more. We also have the complete Adobe Creative Suite (including Dreamweaver and Photoshop) and experienced people to help.
