Citeseerscreen capture

4. Copy the entry and paste it into a word processor or text editor.

5. Repeat with any other records you wish to import leaving a line between each record. Save as a text (.txt) document. The references will look like this:

@article{ yang00interoperation,
author = "Jian Yang and Mike P. Papazoglou",
title = "Interoperation support for electronic business",
journal = "Communications of the ACM",
volume = "43",
number = "6",
pages = "39--47",
year = "2000",
url = "citeseer.nj.nec.com/article/yang00interoperation.html" }

To import these references into EndNote:

Note: The EndNote Software does not come equipped with a filter for importing CiteSeer Records. You will have to download the filter, which can be found on the University of Southern Queensland Library website at: http://www.usq.edu.au/library/infoabout/endnote/filters/citeseer.htm

If you download the filter, you may have to close and reopen EndNote in order for the new filter to appear as an option. Make sure to save the filter in the same folder as all other EndNote filters.

1. Open EndNote and the library into which you want to import references.

2. Under File, click on Import…

3. Choose the text file that contains your references.

4. Select "other filters" from the pull-down menu next to Import Option.

5. Select the CiteSeer Filter.

6. Click on Import. Your references should appear in the EndNote Library.

Note: The filter does not import the abstract or keywords. It does however import the URL of the citation. To add these to your record, first highlight it in your EndNote library then click on References/ Open Link. This will open the record in CiteSeer and you can then copy and paste additional information into the reference in EndNote. This is also the time to add unit numbers or other notes that apply to all of these records.
