In the case of Hinduism, primary texts are books that are used in Hindu study and worship. They include sacred books, collections of stories and songs, writings by priests, and many other things.

Secondary texts are books written about Hinduism. They include scholarly work, guides to Hinduism, books that explain primary texts, and more.
