Most libraries have a Reference Desk, sometimes called the Information Desk. At smaller libraries, you may find one desk for reference help and checking out books.
Librarians work at the Reference Desk, and their job is to help people in the library. If you have a question about research or how to use UNC libraries, the Reference Desk is a good place to ask.
At UNC-Chapel Hill, you will find Reference Desks at Davis Library, the Undergraduate Library, the Health Sciences Library, and some other libraries. Every library has someone who can help you.
You can get help from UNC Library Reference Services in several different ways:
- In person.
- By phone.
- By email.
- Through Davis Library's Live Online Help chat service.
- Through Davis Library's AOL Instant Messenger service.
- Through the Undergraduate Library's AOL Instant Messenger service.
