Both the Library Catalog and most e-research tools allow you to search by title. But when should you use one over the other? To search for the titles of books and other materials (audio-visual, microforms, etc.), use the Library Catalog. To find article titles, use E-Research Tools.
As a general rule for a title search, omit initial articles but retain internal articles. And remember, don't include diacritical marks such as accents. Here is a list of articles to consider:
- English: a, an, the
- Spanish: el, los, la, las, un, unos, una, unas
- Portuguese: o, a, os, as, um, uma
