ArchivesUSA is an online directory of over 5,000 repositories and 120,000 collections in the United States. This directory is a subscription service available to all those associated with UNC who have a valid PID number.

If you are not affiliated with UNC but would like to use ArchivesUSA, a similar but less comprehensive directory is available for free online from the National Union Catalog of Manuscript Collections (NUCMC).

WorldCat is an online union catalog of over 49 million records representing books, journals, dissertations, audio-visual materials, and manuscripts in repositories worldwide. Like ArchivesUSA, WorldCat is a subscription service available to all those associated with UNC who have a valid PID Number. If you are not affiliated with UNC, check with your local library for availability of this catalog.
