The finding aids for collections in the Southern Historical Collection, the Southern Folklife Collection and General and Literary Manuscripts are listed alphabetically by the title of the collection. Usually, the collection of an individual will be indexed by the person's surname, and the collection of an organization will be indexed by the name of that organization. For example, the finding aid for the Shelby Foote Papers would be found under "F," and the finding aid for Glencoe Mill Records would be found under "G." If you know the name of the collection you are interested in, you may access the finding aid directly by using the alphabetical list.

The finding aids for the records groups in University Archives are listed under administrative divisions. For example, the finding aid for the Records of the Department of Botany would be found under the division, Academic Affairs.

If you do not know of any specific collections, you may use the Manuscripts Department's Google feature to locate relevant finding aids. Remember, you will be accessing the finding aids only, not the collection materials.
