The Reference Room is the Department's main public space, where you will find print finding aids, reference books, public computers with Internet access, and the public services staff.

Print Finding Aids

Hard copies of finding aids organized alphabetically by collection name. In some cases, the print finding aids include more information than the online version.

Reference Books

Popular reference works include: History of the University of North Carolina, Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, Dictionary of North Carolina Biography, and Country Music Sources: A Biblio-Discography of Commercially Recorded Traditional Music.

Public Services Desk

At the desk, you can get reference assistance and submit your requests for materials.
