The tutorial consists of six sections:
- Introduction provides an overview of the tutorial itself and
introduces the UNC-Chapel Hill mathematics collection.
- Search Strategies discusses the most common and effective search
methods. These valuable techniques can be applied in any database
or Internet search engine.
- Books presents the main resources for finding relevant books,
theses, and dissertations at the UNC-Chapel Hill Libraries, in
other libraries, and on the Internet.
- Articles examines the most important resources for identifying
and locating scholarly articles in the field of mathematics.
- Citing presents the basic rules of the APA Style and provides
examples of bibliographic and in-text citations in this format.
- Library Services describes the process for recalling books
that are checked out, provides guidance on using Interlibrary Loan,
and presents options for obtaining reference assistance.
Each section contains a number of sub-sections. While the sections are arranged in a logical progression, each section can stand on its own, so it is not necessary to follow them in sequence.
