Library of Congress (LC)

Subject Headings are controlled vocabulary terms that help you find items about a particular topic.

LC subject headings are used for the majority of books in the University and Law Libraries.

serial murderers - united states

Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)

MeSH is used by the Health Sciences Library and is important to be aware of when searching for health affairs-related materials.

In some instances, the same words or phrases are used for both LC and MeSH, but in many cases, they differ.
