Subject Headings

The Library of Congress classification system has many subject headings relating to China. To search the UNC-Chapel Hill Libraries catalog using a subject heading, choose "LC Subject" and then enter a search term. Often you can find a helpful subject term by entering "China" and then playing around with keywords. You can make the headings broader or narrower in scope by adding or removing search terms. For instance, you can narrow "China--Fiction" to "Women--China--Fiction."
