Commercial Librarires in India

Avid Indian readers often pay a small yearly fee to join members-only commercial libraries. These libraries collect popular and classic fiction, nonfiction, and sometimes music and films. Members are often allowed to buy old library books for a low price. Commercial libraries range in size and nature from large urban edifices to small rural shop fronts. As with public libraries, you can search for books on your own, but you may need help interpreting the classification systems. At least one third of these libraries create their own classification systems, rather than following the Dewey Decimal or other common methods.
