Culture Web Sites
The web also abounds with information on Italian culture. There are plenty of sites to choose from, but finding credible information from an Italian perspective in an easily navigable format may take some time. Here are three that meet those criteria and cover a variety of topics:
- Italianculture.net promotes the spirit of Italian ars vivendi, the art of enjoying life. Italian Fashion, Italian Literature, and Italian Music, are just a few of the headings, and each is briefly described from a socio-historical perspective.
- Zoomata.com combs Italy’s current cultural landscape and transforms it into short, English news stories on a range of topics. From quality-of-life issues to cultural trends, this is a great place to go to feel the pulse of the Italian peninsula. Try the links to “blogs we like” for a true insider perspective.
- Italica is a project of RAI, Italy’s public broadcasting network (Radio Audizioni Italia). Less an overview than a snapshot of current Italian culture, it includes browsing and searching features to help you find out more about Italy’s thriving artistic culture.
