Using the Libraries: Libraries at Universities where UNC Has Study Abroad Programs and Other Major Libraries in Mexico
-
The Central Library of the Universidad Autónoma de México (English-language site) is the most recognized
research library in the country due to the size of its collection and the famous murals
that decorate the exterior. In addition to the Biblioteca Central, UNAM has 138 other
libraries, serving individual departments and research institutes. Some library services
are limited to users directly affiliated with UNAM, but individual libraries on campus
make their own policies.
-
The Library of Tecnológico de
Monterrey offers many online databases and access to the catalog through the
Biblioteca Digitál del
Tecnológico de Monterrey. The online catalog offers an option to search in
all 33 libraries of the Tec system.
-
Students from UNC have study abroad exchange options
with seven other Tecnológico de Monterrey campuses, most of which have library
facilities on site. Students may be required to show a student ID card in order to
enter the library on any Tec campus.
-
The libraries of Universidad de las Américas in Puebla are part of the Centro Interactivo de Recursos de
Información y Aprendizaje (CIRIA). Online catalogs are available to search for
books, periodicals, and reserve materials. The library Web site also provides access to many of the same electronic
databases available at UNC.
-
The Biblioteca
