About This Tutorial
The Library Research Tutorial is designed to help you learn how to find, evaluate and manage information in an increasingly complex information environment. The tutorial introduces you to some important search concepts and guides you in the use of the UNC-Chapel Hill library system.
The tutorial can be completed in any order and can also be used as a source of reference for any interested researcher. There is an optional quiz at the end of the tutorial to further assess your knowledge.
While it can stand on its own, the tutorial serves as a prerequisite for those students attending the required library session for English Composition 100 and 105.
The tutorial will be updated regularly. We encourage and invite all users to share their comments and suggestions for the tutorial, and we look forward to hearing from you.
The tutorial was developed by Suchi Mohanty in the Undergraduate Library, Lisa Norberg and Kim Vassiliadis in University Libraries, and recently updated by Ellie Boote of the School of Information and Library Science.
